Aims & Objectives
  1. To ensure the rights and opportunities of film students.
  2. To promote the production and exhibition of quality and healthy films.
  3. To strengthen the film society movement.
  4. To utilise the knowledge gained from film studies in bringing positive changes to the local film industry.
Conditions for General Membership
  1. Only film students currently enrolled in a specific subject at a university designated by the Bangladesh Film Students' Association are eligible to apply for general membership.
  2. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. Applicants must pay a one-time fee of BDT 200 as the general membership fee to the association's fund.
  4. If any applicant applies for membership by providing false or incorrect information, their application will be cancelled and the fee will be considered non-refundable.
  5. The decision of the Central Executive Committee regarding approval or cancellation of membership shall be final.
Conditions for Alumni Membership
  1. Only former film students who have passed a specific subject at a university/institute designated by the Bangladesh Film Students' Association are eligible for alumni membership.
  2. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age; there is no upper age limit.
  3. Those who have completed a four (4) year graduation and a Master's course, or only a four (4) year graduation, are eligible for Graduate Membership.
  4. Those who have completed a (1.5–2) year Diploma course are eligible for Diplomate Membership.
  5. Those who have completed only a Master's course are eligible for Associate Membership.
  6. Membership fees: Graduate Membership — ৳5,000 | Diplomate Membership — ৳4,000 | Associate Membership — ৳3,000 (one-time). Membership is valid for 2 years and must be renewed upon expiry.
  7. If any applicant provides false or incorrect information, their application will be cancelled and the fee will be non-refundable.
  8. The decision of the Central Executive Committee regarding approval or cancellation of membership shall be final.
Conditions for International Membership
  1. Bangladeshi passport holders residing abroad are eligible to apply for international membership.
  2. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. Current and former students of universities offering a major in Film Studies are eligible to apply. The university degree must explicitly mention "Film," "Cinema," or a recognised synonym of the discipline.
  4. Membership fees: BDT 1,000 for current students and BDT 5,000 for alumni.
  5. Applicants providing false or misleading information during the application process will have their application cancelled, and the fee will be non-refundable.
  6. International members are entitled to participate as members of the General Body and Alumni Body, and may also serve in the Central Executive Committee and Advisory Committee.
  7. The decision of the Central Executive Committee regarding approval or cancellation of membership shall be final.
